Brother MFC-T920DW Infinite Ink Multifunction Printer: Features and Performance Explored

Hello, this is Ilwon Station Exit 1 Pharmacy.

Currently, we are using 3 machines in the pharmacy:

Brother MFC-T910DW

Brother HL-1210W

Fuji Xerox P115W

Brother HL-1210W and Fuji Xerox P115W

are the same printers with different logos,

so toner replacement and management are done in the same way.

The Brother MFC-T910DW printer

was purchased through a second-hand transaction on Carrot Market

and after 2 years of use

the number of printers used

was about 35,000

In September 2024,

the absorbent of the MFC-T910DW printer was full, so it was replaced through the official Brother AS service. At that time, the technician told me that other parts of the printer were worn out a lot.

(I think he recommended replacing the printer, not the absorber)

Still, I thought I could use it without any problems for a while,

so I replaced the absorber and used it,

but starting this month, the print quality has dropped sharply,

and normal printing has become impossible without cleaning the toner head.

At home, I use the Brother DCP-T520W,

so I was considering choosing a lower model,

and chose the MFC-T920DW, which is a similar model.

I bought it from the Naver Smart Store Brother Brand Store,

and it was delivered the day after I purchased it.

The MFC-T920DW printer

had the same external design as the existing MFC-T910DW,

and only the ink tank was changed.

I was a bit confused at first because the ink tank cap was not connected to the main body.

While using it, I am worried that I might lose it,

or that the cap might get contaminated with ink by dropping it on clothes or objects when refilling the ink..

I think I will know the difference from the previous MFC-T910DW as I use it in the future.

After refilling the ink, the first print quality result was not very good,

so I cleaned the head and reprinted it, and it was printed with the desired good quality.

Reasons for choosing a Brother printer for pharmacy work

Advantages

① No paper jams

Currently, pharmacies do not use the medicine envelopes that are usually used in pharmacies,

but only print the medication guides.

In the case of pharmacies, paper jams are common after a certain period of time because printers are used a lot. Especially when using envelopes, there are many cases of stress due to paper jams,

but according to previous experience or stories from people around me,

paper jams are much less than those of other companies.

② Highest satisfaction when printing without margins

When using other companies' printers,

when printing without margins or printing completely,

there were still some areas where printing was not done on the top, bottom, left, and right, which was disappointing.

However, when using a Brother printer, it really prints completely without margins,

so I think it is suitable as a home or simple business printer.

③ Fast printing speed

The W in the product name means a wifi-enabled product.

As someone who prefers wireless connections,

I prioritize wireless connection + fast and stable work.

When clicking print, it prints quickly and stably, so there is no inconvenience in work.

Disadvantages

① Absorbent material replacement

When using a previous Epson infinite ink printer,

the Epson maintenance box (absorbent material) was on the side of the printer,

so it was easy to replace. However, Brother's infinite ink printer

must be disassembled to replace the top of the printer and part of the main body.

After watching a YouTube video, I was worried that it might be damaged or malfunctioned while replacing it, so I used the official AS service to replace it.

Conclusion

If you use a Brother printer, it will be difficult to choose a printer from another company.
